Phnom Penh to Siem Reap

Decided to take a bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap…it was a smooth 6hr trip. I was fascinated with the haystack formation in front of the houses (as you will see by the amount of images I took). It was nice to see the countryside.

Royal Palace / National Museum – Phnom Penh

A must see as a tourist…though I wished we’d gone to Siem Reap first because many of the statues that were “recovered” from the temples were exhibited at the National Museum.

Phnom Penh – highlights

Phnom Penh was…..gritty. The recovery phase (I mentioned earlier) is still in motion. You could tell people were survivors…and the NGO activity is the highest I’ve ever experienced.
