this is the famous one with the Buddha face carved out…you’ll see the scale with the cheezy touisty image I took with me touching the Buddha’s lips.

The main reason for this trip was to see the temples in real time. I had seen them in films such as “In the Mood for Love” and (in a low whisper) “Tomb Raider” but I needed to see for myself how grand they were. I was not disappointed..actually I was awe struck and inspired. […]
Decided to take a bus from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap…it was a smooth 6hr trip. I was fascinated with the haystack formation in front of the houses (as you will see by the amount of images I took). It was nice to see the countryside.
A must see as a tourist…though I wished we’d gone to Siem Reap first because many of the statues that were “recovered” from the temples were exhibited at the National Museum.
I don’t think I need to go into the descriptions…I believe the photos say it all.
