long weekend
After coming back from the Reno travels we decided to tool around locally. Had the Monday off (International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples) and wanted to do two things. Find a trail we’ve never been to and spend all day at the park reading to each other – the book Detransition, Baby by Torrey Peters (HIGHLY Recommended).
The new trail was Junipero Serra Park (Saturday), where there was an amazing picnic area (photos). It was a super simple trail, but it was awesome to discover Iris Point (heh heh). It overlooked the Bay and had a straight view towards the SF Airport. I imagined playing mahjong all day on those picnic benches.
Then the next day we ended up spending all day in Golden Gate Park reading. Put up the beach tent and brought a bunch of snacks and a flask and planted ourselves by the trees. We we’re able to shelter ourselves from the wind and enjoy about 5+hours of reading. Felt so old – but I didn’t care, we were warm and fully buzzed (by the novel) 😉
