make-up workshop at cemeti

Octora – an artist from central Java – did a “make-up” workshop during her residency at Cemeti. Megan and I were particpants…..had alot of fun. The goal of the workshop was to have the other partner “make-you-up”. So Megan did my make-up while I did hers…as you can see we had very different intentions for the other..but for some reason the one thing we had in common was that we looked like Trannies - you be the judge. after talking with Octora…turns out she wanted to create an “intimacy” between the partners (this is putting it in a nutshell) – very much reminded me of my pal Jenifer’s video piece “Inappropriate”. more info on Octora and the residency – click here
