During sabbatical I explored that area straight up from Rockaway Beach. The entry had a memorial for Jean Frances Fassler. Once we got to the top we realized this was the other trail, coming from Pacifica. A few weeks ago we did the trail from the backside on Sneath. Was gorgeous as usual
Never thought shopping and planning memorials could give such satisfaction. Years prior to Mom’s passing, she always envied full ledgers. When visiting dad it was almost like window shopping, mom checking out other’s headstones. She would point with her cane and say “Oh that one’s beautiful. See Li I want the full ledger”
A year out I’ve managed to singlehandedly resource mom’s perfect ledger. The company Pacific Coast Monuments. They crafted headstones at a reasonable cost. Just to give you a sense, my first estimate for a full ledger was $13K! (Glen Abbey Memorials and not as awesome as what I ordered.)
After the house sold, I was able to get mom’s full ledger and dad’s veteran’s memorial at Mt. Soledad (San Diego). Haven’t seen the mom&dad’s ledger yet, but dad’s memorial is up and is beautiful! Here are some photos my sister took – as well as the proof from mom & dad’s ledger.
Had a conversation with the students at Mercy High, Burlingame yesterday. Thank you again Caroline, love that we re-connect at different iterations of my (art) career! (um – I actually wouldn’t identify as a painter or actress 🙂
Celebrated my good friend Wendi and her partner Bobby’s lovely zoom wedding. Given that this place brings me back to my first outing with Wendi, we found it appropo to be there in celebration of them…it was lovely to see all the Globies there!
After the ceremony we decided to meander and have lunch…as we sat down, soaking in the sun and observing everyone around us at the park, something felt odd. We decided, it felt like a normal day at the park (so weird, right?!)
