podcast and year end musings

Ok I’ll do what everyone and their mother’s are doing….sharing the highlights of the year (nuff said about the low points) – in no particular order:

(+)

honoring and being with mom during her transition, sabbatical, Aly’s 50th birthday, new website, podding in place with the neighbors, baby princess, grateful for my lasting friendships, family (love love love no matter what), work – Wikimedia Foundation (being amazing to us worker bees during a time of utmost chaos and potential despair), my art collaborators who have helped me maintain my creative practice (otherwise I’d delve a little too deep on the tech side) and my love for being earnest and present through the tough times and finally to folks in general for being as human as they are – human beings always amaze me

Now to the present (and possibly future). Back in 2019, in the before times, I sat with Michelle Brenner – host of From the source pod to discuss my career. Have to say it was one of the highlights of this crummy year. Michelle does an excellent job seeking out unique folks in the tech sector (and am humbled to be part of her line up).

Covergirls

Just received my copy of Queering the Global Filipina Body! If you enjoy dense reading, this is the book for you. I haven’t dug in yet as this was published Nov 2020 and is a compilation of research done by Gina K. Velasco the past 15 years. A big congratulations to Gina

Kondo & work

Ever freak out because someone’s computer desktop has shit tons of files on it? Well this is what’s been happening with my machine and well today I did something about that. Unfortunately it did not remove as much as I anticipated. At any rate I found this amazing nugget Aly took. I loved that visit. I miss mom…sigh.
