we were invited as guests to this ‘curated community’ for the Bedlam event. Had a chance to run into old friends. Was hoping to have a different experience from the last – unfortunately I did not. Last experience was … anti-climactic to say the least. The word that was used all evening was forced, not sure if it’s a class thing, but found myself not interested.
For 2016 I was asked to design the t-shirts for the Foundation’s first participation of Pride. It was a pretty good experience, considering I’ve never designed T-shirts before. The process took 5 months. Once pride rolled around – much has happened politically/culturally. The tragedy of the Orlando shooting motivated alot of people to participate, even realized I’ve NEVER participated in Pride. Although there was a disgustingly amount of police around everything went pretty smoothly.
Another fun event with Johanna Poethig! Glamorgeddon Limo Lectures at ProArts Gallery in Oakland. Here’s some press on it.
Project just finished – October 2015 – April 2016 for LA Freewave’s program “Out the Window” (the last ever). As per their invitation
“In our upcoming year, we are joining 6 women and transgender artists with 6 woman-centric nonprofit organizations. We aim to highlight feminism and its relationship between mind and body, by exposing topics of healthcare as a human right, women’s body images, reproductive rights, self-expressive voices, media literacy, self-esteem, LBTQ concerns, new roles and powers, amongst others. Potential distribution outlets range from online platforms such as Youtube, Vimeo, Global Girl Media Network GGMN.TV to organization’s web sites and public venues”
The Brides did it again with the following messages: 1. Claim Your Space 2. Take It 3. No Apologies 4. Stand Up (and Dance) 5. No is OK. Thanks Again to all the F.O.M.O.B.s.
