artists were invited to make art from still lifes assembled by Anna Rockwell, Midori & Oona Nelson. an evening of yummy good fun. there were various mediums taking advantage of the changing scenes ranging from photography to painting and drawing, yours truly took video footage.

Introducing Global Fund For Women’s featured male supporter, K Wayne Yang. I’m super happy to have connected GFW with Wayne, a long time friend that’s definitely making a difference in this world. Earlier this year I had the privilege to present to his class, Decolonizing Education. During our preliminary discussion of my presentation, I discovered he was a long time supporter of GFW (even before I started working there!). Knowing GFW was doing a special campaign for Father’s Day this year I recommended Wayne to be interviewed and voila…he’s now the poster boy!
He thoroughly impressed our Communications folks (most esp. Michele Kumi Baer who interviewed him). After her interview with Wayne she immediately texted me and said:
“Your friend Wayne ROCKS. just interviewed him for GFW father’s day series. Makes me miss my college days…critical POCs (People of Color) in convo…”

fresh off the plane from NYC – taking in the New Filipino Cinema program over at the YBCA..w/jenifer and introducing mr herbert! fun style/hair and a distinct taste for music (all great offerings fr new orleans to the bay area)! We saw two great films – Zombadings (think gay zombies) & Six Degrees of Lilia Cuntapay (way better than Exit Through the Giftshop).
