Another successful action! For this round we decided we wanted to use the newspaper stands as receptacles for change, what better way of doing this than to create a mini-dispensary of seeds? A couple days prior to our action we posted a little listing on Craigslist
Within an hour of our putting up our signs – the free seeds (donated by the seedlendinglibrary) were practically gone! The women pictured below stuffing her backpack apparently has a small garden where which she grows vegetables to give away to the homeless. MANY THANKS to Michael Rauner for documenting.
we are in NO WAY responsible for this one!! as a matter of fact the KONY campaign is so stricken with controversy – GFW grantees in that specific region have sent a message not really supporting the KONY campaign.

Subject: Women’s movement press conference on Kony 2012 campaignDear All,
You must have heard about the Kony 2012 campaign. This morning, Isis-WICCE and other women’s organizations in Uganda held a press conference to share their views and position on the issue.
[for those who have not watched, the utube video is an advocacy campaign by a US based NGO, the Invisible Children. The objective of the campaign is to raise money to make Kony popular globally, so that policy makers in the US can respond by supporting the army to capture Kony, and the year for this to happen is 2012]
