Vertical Horizon

Just finished a new installation over at the Intersection for the Arts. I’m part of a show called “Broadside Attractions.” It was a VERY collaborative process all the way through. The project – two years in the making – consisted of going back and forth with my collaborator (Myron Michael) using prompts initiated by the organizers (you could read more here). I’m very familiar with the collaborative process, but this was the first time I’d work this way (with no initial sense of my collaborator’s work, nor his process). Anonymity worked in our favor, it felt like we thrived off of each other’s enigmatic qualities from the get go (though, I could only speak for myself). Overall, considering our names were pulled out of a hat, I think we worked well – trusting each other in our own mediums. Definitely a show NOT to be missed (runs until May 26th).

Daily Slots: Taxes Pay For What?

Daily Slots Strikes again…this time commenting on the forthcoming DDay for some – TAX Day (April 16). This project came RIGHT after finishing my Vertical Horizon install at the Intersections. The sentence: TAXES PAY FOR WHAT? We hit the ground around 11am and were joined by some special guests, the Winters, Ilana Crispi and Cat. Creators Project

Super Duper good time. Had a chance to see Squarepusher and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs…not to mention the amazing intstallations..! Overall tons of infrared sensors detecting body movement – think Minority Report. Felt like a fun Exploratorium for adults…Check out the video below. Here’s the link to the event – tons of great videos!

IWD Projections at the Luggage Store Gallery

If this photo is not a definitive commentary of gender inequality (Question, If all women had rights equal to those enjoyed by men, would there still be war? No one knows..) ….not sure what may be. Please do peruse through the documentation of the International Women’s Day program. Thank you again to all the organizations and artists who participated. Sounded like the gallery received several calls on this program..yay! HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY! (ALSO congrats to Taraneh on the great article written about her by Christine Donley, where this program was mentioned, amongst ALL the great projects she has and will do! – to read click here)
