After a few days in Ubud – Megan took me to Amed (north eastern area of Bali – about 4 hours from Ubud). In Amed we stayed at Meditasi – a super romantic, tucked away place over looking the ocean. The structure was super simple – pretty much a nipa hut. I really loved the outdoor bathroom/shower area. While there we rented a motorbike, hung out on the beach and played SCRABBLE!!
First set of images are of the cottages we stayed at….Megan’s a regular. Then the next few images were taken around Ubud – the Sacred Monkey Forest – where there were mean little monkeys grabbing for food. Cafe Lotus where we were able to check out a Balinese performance. The snake fruit which is this yummy fruit that tasted like a cross between jicama and pineapple…then there was the bat – this one freaked me out. After our massages at the Bodyworks Healing Center (best fucking massage ever in my life) we sat down to have some ginger tea….low and behold that bat was there hanging out…it was HUGE!!!
After the flight to Denpasar – we took a cab over to Ubud (about an hour and a half from the airport). Nice little town with tons of tourist – this is what I call a soft landing. What struck me most was the amazing statues of deities and gods – as well as the daily offerings…..not to mention the architecture. All very much resembled gorgeous temples. Check it.
