south of market walk…

making my way from the Bayview to Pearl St. I strolled from 4th and Berry (Caltran Depot) and up to Market and Octavia. I was struck by this image….I just love how the clouds billow amidst the construction of the freeway – a perfect “perspective” moment in more ways than one – ominous perhaps. As I was walking areas that were so desolate around ’98 – when I used to take my weekend bikerides from Pearl St. through Brannan through the Embarcadero and on up to the Headlands – I was intrigued by the rapid development in tandem with the rapid decline….I wonder if it’s an urban thing.

Pastry & Pizza in the Richmond

This Saturday I was fortunate enough to reap the benefits of Anne’s learning experience. She had invited a selected special few to do a tasting of all the cakes she created during her pastry course at the SF Baking Institute. Oh yeah – and as an added bonus we were able to taste the yummy scrumptuous pizza specially fired in their pizza oven that she and Stella built. Dunno about you all but Richmond is the bomb……! Check out the yummy menu and examples:
