Djerassi..

I forgot how beautiful this place was. I was hiking around saying to myself……other residencies certainly does not have this place beat…first – the land is EXPANSIVE – there are miles of trails leading you to amazing public sculptures. second – there’s no more than 12 artist at a time. third – dennis o’leary and the crew are wonderful. this space certainly is quite the opposite of what I’ve experienced the last few months……..have a look.

this is the artist barn – where my studio and sleeping quarters are

gone for so long…..

well not really. actually in accordance with my vow to keep the adventure going (um over a year ago)…….megan’s HOME project kept me quite busy over the month of November. as soon as we landed from mexico (celebrating our birthdays) there was much to prepare for. along with curating the projection series for the month – I helped out with documenting the many many many events that occurred as well as being the cheese and snack person. couldn’t tell if it was the events or the article from the chronicle that kept us on our toes…thought I could hang but in the end we had to cancel the closing party due to my having strep. then a day after – I was off to Djerassi where I am spending a couple of weeks working on my shows both in San Mateo and Hong Kong (more in another post). here are some images documenting the projection pieces…..as well as the invite I designed. you could check out the actual project and see pictures from the dinner salon’s and events on megan’s site here. thank you to the artists who participated in the projection series – Adriana Varela, Domingo Nuño, Carolyn Castaño, Richard “Axle” Pirkl and Lise Swenson- the neighborhood completely appreciated the series.
