this last week has been crazy. tying up lose ends. helping mom with her vehicle (she had to leave it with the body shop) and promised I’d build an awning for her orchids that are about to bloom. in all actuality the time spent at home was sort of like tasting what it’s like to be a real real adult and part of a family in REAL TIME (mortgages, domestic resolve with yards and such, family therapy – you know). No wonder I never spent a lengthy amount of time at home…it certainly wasn’t a vacation but then again I wouldn’t have wanted anything different. I completely adore my family. Here’s a shot of my garden work (and yes- they are ALL orchids).
Seeings that it was the second to the last Sunday spending time here with my family I decided to go to mass to watch my mother sing with the choir. She’s part of the DMI (unlike MOB) – the Daughter’s of Mary Immaculate are a group of women who believe in God – HARDCORE. I mean mom and I have had conversations about their positions on abortion, morality, queerness and well I told her that I stand for everything DMI stands against. Anyhow we resolved our differences – acknowledged that our relationship as mother and daughter comes first. I thoroughly enjoyed the service and am truly proud of her.
