el ultimo noche…

so we decided to have a lovely dinner with lovely people (katja and steffi) at Olsen – one of thee BEST restaurants I’ve eaten in the world (well besides Alinea)…seriously. Architecturally amazing, food yummy and the music/ambiance……..PERFECT and most importantly the price…quite doable. When discussing whether or not there was a restaurant in SF that compares to Olsen…we both agreed…nothing comes close….

uhem..okay where did I leave off…

got a little distracted with the special visitor. upon her arrival a whirlwind of activities occurred..first…her birthday…

then my birthday…

seriously – didn’t read that playboy – this was a posed picture..

then brazil – first sao paulo,

then rio,

yummy lunch on the beach….

Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) – Niteroi – designed by Niemeyer
(my new favorite architect –
same guy who did the structure that looks like a big gigantic tongue above)

christ the redeemer…afuckingmazing view!!

then sao paulo…

then back to buenos aires…(celebrated Teresa’s birthday at La Brigada the BEST place in Buenos Aires for MEAT)

then into our new space in palermo

the embassy

so…my big goal was to connect with the Filipino community here…which I did. One of my last meetings was spent interviewing Tet about her experience as a Filipina here in Buenos Aires..as well as checking out the documents the Philippine Embassy has on file. These reports date back to 1966 when Militarism was the lesser of two evils (Communism being the other) here in Argentina. An amazing tidbit of history.
