THE TEMPLES!!!
The main reason for this trip was to see the temples in real time. I had seen them in films such as “In the Mood for Love” and (in a low whisper) “Tomb Raider” but I needed to see for myself how grand they were. I was not disappointed..actually I was awe struck and inspired. I have to confess Angkor Wat (the most famous of the temples) was not my favorite…my MOST MOST favorite was Preah Khan, Angkor Thom, Banyon and Banteay Srey. If you’re planning to go, purchasing a 3 day pass means it’s good for the entire week (a Cambodian government decision that was made while we were there) – which is enough time to see them. Honestly there’s only so much temples you could take. A word to the wise…taking a krama and water is highly recommended – there’s some major hiking involved if you really want to see the every nook and cranny of these amazing architectural marvels. (I’m going to have to post in separate postings due to the amount of images taken)
